The Shun 7-Piece Essential Block Set features all the must-have kitchen cutlery in one beautiful bamboo block. The set includes Shun’s Classic 3.5″ Paring Knife, 6″ Utility Knife, 9″ low frequency Bread Knife, 8″ Chef’s Knife, and Honing Steel. In addition to these key cutlery pieces, the set includes the Shun Herb Shears. The shears are perfect for snipping herbs and cutting vegetables. The laminated bamboo block comes with extra open slots so you can continue to expand you Shun Classic collection. Bamboo offers easy-care performance. It absorbs very little moisture and does not shrink or swell like other hardwoods, making it ideal for kitchen accessories.
Each Shun Cutlery Classic knife features a VG-Max “super” steel blade core clad with 34 folded layers per side of stainless Damascus steel. The blade is ground and bead blasted to reveal the beautiful flowing pattern of the Damascus. Each side is sharpened to a 16 degree angle. It features a D-shaped Ebony PakkaWood handle, which is resin-impregnated natural hardwood designed for moisture resistance and longevity. While the D-shaped handle is designed specifically for right-handed use, left-handed users may find it comfortable in hand as well. Shun does sell select left-hand specific handles in the reverse grip.
